The Beginning

A kitchen in Overport, a recipe for life.

During these times of feeding we utilized paper plates, and for some reason after the feeding was concluded, it was reported that there were “14 Plates” left over. Strangely enough this happened on a few occasions, hence it was mentioned that when a business is opened, the name 14 Plates will be used. The name 14 Plates stuck in remembrance of our commitment towards society and our place in humanity. We believe without a shadow of doubt, that the name and the motivation is from God, thus for us 14 Plates symbolizes “help and commitment”

What We Stand For

Three things we never compromise on.

Made With Love

Every samoosa is hand-crimped using a technique passed down from our grandmother. No shortcuts, no compromise — just the same care since day one.

Fresh Ingredients

We source our spices from trusted local suppliers weekly. Our pastry is made fresh each morning. You can taste the difference — that’s not an accident.

Authentic Recipes

Our recipes trace back to Overport, where it was discovered we have been cooking this way since then. We haven’t changed a thing worth changing.
